Though Ubisoft has announced a host of new entries in some of its major franchises, the studio isn't opposed to revisiting others, like Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia, that haven't been seen in several years.

Speaking to IGN during E3 as part of a larger discussion of Ubisoft's Canadian studios, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat said the company is open to revisiting dormant franchises given the right ideas.

'I like to think of the studio as a huge..creative collective. So, if some of the creative comes to us and says 'Hey, by the way, I have this crazy idea' about a brand that we haven't done anything with for many years, we will listen,' Mallat said. Word 2016 descargar gratis.

Mallat did notice that deciding to revisit one of the companies' franchises would, of course, also depend on the realities of the gaming market.

'There is a question of does it make sense, is there a market,' Mallat said. 'But it's open for the creatives to propose something.'

He noted that this approach — fostering the creativity of its developers and emboldening them to pitch their own ideas — is how new franchises have been born in the past, specifically in discussing how he approaches working with Ubisoft Montreal.

'One of the best commitments we [made] was to nurture the creative side of the studio and make sure we build an environment where the people feel empowered, feel free to try, feel free to fail, feel free to express themselves,' Mallat said.

Mallat's statement echoes Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot's comments earlier this week that the company is 'not forgetting Splinter Cell' but that Ubisoft 'has quite a lot on our plate at the moment.'

Prince of Persia was last seen on consoles in 2010 with the release of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, while the Splinter Cell franchise's last release was 2013's Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
