This Is America Reactions
Shortly after Atlanta closed out Robbin' Season (and more?) over on FX, star and creator Donald Glover made a Solo-promoting appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
- Donald Glover's #ThisIsAmerica is such a cool music video for showing how many split personalities America actually has + how the culture puts blackness in several narrow boxes at the same time.
- Sacha Baron Cohen always seeks a reaction - and he usually gets one. He's a modern-day provocateur. A real-life Internet troll, only with a social conscious and a good agent. His British gangster.

Naturally, the appearance resulted in Glover shifting briefly into Childish Gambino mode to say a few words about leading Video of the Year contender 'This Is America,' directed by Hiro Murai. 'That was my main thing,' Glover said when Kimmel joked that the new Gambino video had toppled Keyboard Cat. 'I was trying to beat the Keyboard Cat.'
As for the wave of analysis and think pieces the video has inspired, Glover admitted he hasn't paid much attention. 'Some friends have sent, like, a couple, but to be real, I haven't been on the internet since Thursday night before the Saturday Night Live,' he said. 'Just because I was like I don't wanna be in all theā¦ It's bad for me. I'm really sensitive, so I'm just, like, I'll just let it be.'
Asked if he avoids the reactions because 'one negative thing' might make him feel bad, Glover mostly agreed. 'More like, I see one negative thing and I track that person down,' he joked. 'It's like, I'll go onto their Instagram and be like 'You're not so great. That baby's not even that cute.' So, yeah.'
Later, Glover and Kimmel talked Lando, Stevie Wonder, and the importance of No Doubt's classic 1995 album Tragic Kingdom. Catch the clips in question above and below.
